Smart Car Roadster

     This curvy, two-door, right hand drive microcar was initially launched in 2003 by Smart GmbH, with a slogan, ‘Open your mind’. With a contemporary, yet classical design combined with a standard performance level, this small car was quite a revelation in its initial stages. The Smart Roadster is well equipped in the power category with its turbocharged mid-engine that has an output of 80 bhp. The most impressive factor is that this car just takes 10.9 seconds to reach the 0 – 62 mph mark and has a top speed of 109 mph and an overall weight of 790 kg that result in a power that is almost equal to that of a sports car.

        This car with its stylish looks also has some excellent features that impart pure pleasure to the occupants. With a speedy gait and smooth ride, the Roadster has a SOFTOUCH automatic transmission mode as well as a manual one, which actually proves to be quite advantageous in the long run. There is also a remarkably intuitive gear display unit in the dashboard that instructs the driver as to the required gear position at various times. A three-spoke steering wheel with attached paddleshift facilitates the shifting of gears smoothly akin to the style of the F1. With all these advantages that can be found inbuilt in the Roadster, it becomes all the more possible to enjoy a smooth and relaxed drive.
