The Smart Forfour is a supermini hatchback version that comes from the Smart family of compact cars, and it was manufactured from 2004 to 2006. A head-turner like its predecessors, the Smart City Coupe and the Smart Roadster, this is a rather conventional four/five seater that has literally enthralled a large number of automobile enthusiasts.
With a lot of features that are similar to the Mitsubishi Colt, the Smart Forfour is available in five different types- three petrol engines, and two diesel engines. The standard model also features a 5-speed manual transmission while the 6-speed softouch plus gear transmission is offered as an alternative.
Very obviously, it is the 1.5 litre petrol engine that has the highest power output as is proved by its top speed of 118 mph. It takes 9.8 seconds to reach the 0- 62.5 mph mark and is considered quite ideal for a comfortable cruise along the motorways. Moreover, with a nimble chassis and solid shock absorbers, this is a car which provides a superior ride quality too. ABS and EBD is a standard feature on all the versions of the Smart Forfour cars, which result in the maintenance of safety standards throughout.
Like the other Smart vehicles that preceded the Forfour, this car too is well regarded for its high degree of maneuverability and easy handling. All the necessary controls are arranged precisely within arms range and the cabin itself is ergonomically designed and quite spacious with comfortable seats with adequate back support. Features like Rear electric windows and flexible lumbar support are provided as options to make the ride more comfortable.
